Ideals Dreamed and Drinking Eros Timeline

1999

During the last year of the last ‘CATS’ tour, Paul Gallanter began writing a script based on Plato’s Symposium and parts of the Phaedrus.

2004

January through April

With a cast of local actors and technicians, Paul directed a reading on video at LMC-TV.  The reading led to detailed revisions.  It was here that we realized the value of a work-shopping model.

March

Launched Drinking Eros website.

October

Our lead designer, Anne Allen Goelz joins the project.

2005

April

Joe Vigliotti joins the project as the composer and musical director.  After an intensive series of business and creative meetings, we decided to form a for profit production company that will use a work-shopping model to develop our play.

August

Ideals Dreamed llc registered in New York State.

September

Launched Ideals Dreamed llc website.

2006

January through February

Having decided that the sound track is the first production priority, we built a digital audio workstation (DAW) for the composer's studio.

April - November

A second DAW is built for track playback and vocal recording.

November -

Work begins on a live sound reinforcement system for rehearsal and demonstration.

2007

    January to Present

The live sound system, nearly complete, supports live vocals sung to a live mix of pre-recorded

              tracks.

Short Term Plans

Our primary goal remains the production of a sound track using a work-shopping model of production.

Long Term Plans

Upon finishing the sound track, we plan to develop selected songs and scenes for video.
